Don Aldridge took some really good ones.   Today ( Sunday July 30 )  was an incredible day. This may be the  secind best day I have ever had digging.  I found 3 amazing clusters , one super matrix cluster , and  lots of gemmy facet grade single crystal.      I let everyone go into the hole at lunch and russ fulwiler hit a large pocket and pulled out a cluster valued at around $6000.00  along with lots of good singles.  I imagine steve barr will have a report about that !   I  have made a special " cash & treasures " page and here is the link  http://www.dixieeuhedrals.com/page34.html Friday was crazy ,  with a major pocket it in the HYBRID area.   Major cluster found .      As with all major pockets , this one was named.  I have named the pocket that was hit friday the " New York Swindler pocket - (J.A.F.) " .  These will no doubt be hot sellers . New updates posted below about the  C&T dig , please keep checking below as I will be adding information ---- V   V below V V --- as questions arise. The dates for the next monster machine dig is  the weekend coming up  ,Friday , Saturday , Sunday , July 28 , 29 , 30 and is code named " Cash & Treasures " due to the fact that Indigo Films will have a film crew out to tape the event for inclusion in an episode by the same name for the Travel Channel. Indigo Films also sells clips and excerpt for stock footage in documentaries as well as The Learning Channel , Science Channel , Discovery Channel.  . Regular visitors are asked to bring examples of finds on prior trips , faceted stones and jewelry as well . Anyone filmed will no doubt have their image beamed around the globe  via satellite and viewed by millions , for quite a long time !  Camping is allowed  and we will have a port-a-potty , and the Jameson hotel is filling up 1-800-jameson and ask for washington georgia to book a room . Parking :  Parking will be on the power line ( the double gates will be open ). Once that fills up , parking will be at a clearing up the road and we will have shuttles bring people and their tools to the mine and then back at days end . Please do not drive to the dig site. If you can't find a place to park along the power line ,  do NOT drive down the road to the mine , just park along the road and walk to the dig site and a shuttle will lead you to the parking area and then  will bring you back along with your tools. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THE ROADWAY leading into the mine.  Payment should be in cash at the site -- please no checks and no paypal payments .The entry fee  to the mine is is $100 and includes the whole 3 days , but still applies even if you want to just come dig for  only one or two days. I am making the whole weekend available for the same price that I normally charge for just one day . This is because I realize that it is going to be hot , and also because i will spend a lot of time taking care of filming . We will have 2 generators and several fans runing . The machine will run for a minimum of 8 hours but this will be spread over the three days. I have ordered a cat 325 which is a tremendously powerfull 65,000 pound machine . It is about 50 % bigger and stronger than the normal heavy machine. A machine of this size usually cost $3000.00 for the weekend , and half of this is just a delivery/pickup charge since anything over 50k pounds has to have a special permit going and coming and a mapped out route so that it doesnt bust bridges. Here's what your entry fee pays for : to be able to dig thru the tailings piles in hopes of recovering amethyst that has been missed in the process of my mining operation . it does not include entry into any excavation hole . First time visitors to this event are welcome but discouraged from coming ..................you may wish to talk to someone that has been to one of my digs before and ask them what the deal is and what they think . It should be noted that the machine is there for me to dig amethyst out of the hole . Your entry fee is to go thru the tailings as the machine brings them up . This is generaly VERY VERY good ! Folks have been going slap crazy over these machine digs and there is a good reason for that ! If you work hard you should have something to show for your effort. if you sit on the bank on your ass and watch me  all day , at the end of the day I will have a whole bunch in my bucket and you'll have nothing in yours ! hard working and even moderate workers welcome , slothfull degenerates ARE NOT .  Here is a photo sent in to me by my friend Jorie  ( i hope I spelled her last name right , probably not and the jpg cant be altered )  from the last machine dig, who i called down to come extract a specimen out of the rock in the hole :  I sometimes let people go in the hole while I stop for lunch at no charge , and sometimes if things are going well and folks are acting with courtesy and common sense , I let folks come in one at a time to look around and sometimes to collect a specimen. Entry into a hole may or may not happen , but you will need a hardhat , so you may wish to bring one just in case . On occasion I let people enter the main hole for a fee or dig a secondary hole, for about $400 per person -----you can ask about this on the site. I am strong and have high heat tolerance and endurance . I use the right tools and know exactly what i am doing. If you do not have these attributes and still wish to pay to enter a hole , dont be mad at me if you dont do well. i and my associates just make it look easy . IT ISN'T !  Items for sale :  Jim Olsen will be having a book signing of his new Georgia rockhunting locations book.  I will be selling other regional rock locations books as well as t-shirts , Tools, facet rough , crystals , as well as the new carved animals .We will be cooking out , there should be something for every one . Don provides the food at no cost to me or anyone , and says he wants to keep it that way , so that he doesnt have to feed someone that he doesnt like . I have asked the film crew to stop by the local store and to buy fresh fruit. If you want to bring something to add to the dining table , please do ! Please be sure to bring a cooler full of ice and lots to drink , especially gatorade or something with salt / electrolytes in it. Kids are free and usually welcomed , but in this case , I will have a whole lot going on this weekend , so please bring your kids only if you have to . Every one should wear safety glasses  if they are hitting anything with a hammer. i certainly do not want the film crew to tape folks banging on rocks , chisels or ANYTHING and not wearing safety glasses ...............especially children doing this ! If you want to book a trip to JXR after the dig , the hole will be free of water with  virgin rock exposed and there will be all sorts off good tailings piles . how the color is concentrated in relatively small areas. This is
typical for the crystals that I have dug, although a majority have come
from a somewhat localized area of the mine. I'm hoping for a lot of

Would not be the first time . . .Robert Fresh dirt alert !    Fresh diggings at jackson's Crossroads  which has yeileded a lot of facet grade amethyst crystals.   The water has mainly evaporated out of the front pit  , so the chance to dig in virgin rock has never been better .  There you have it :  Fresh dirt up top and the hole is cleaned out with virgin but very hard rock exposed in the hole.  Just call me at 404-975-8005 for the hook-up on digging .                                NEWSFLASH !  I just got a report on the weekend at JXR . I also began preparations for Saturdays main event , a monster machine dig.   Romin and Sandi found some nice crystals but I dont have the pix.   Steve barr found a really nice crystal as big as a stretched out hand.  Steve liked it so well he did the happy dance !   Thomas Davis found some good ones , and here is one of them .  Jorie found soome good ones , I am not sure if the picture file she sent will display , but if it does , here is jories crystal and picture : .  Most everyone found some , but I did hear one lady griping and complaining.  The next day ( Sunday ) started of with me ripping rock in the hybrid area.  Sure enough , the first boulder that ripped showed a killer cluster nestled in a druse lined vug. This one really needed to be sawed but I had neither a saw or generator.  I gave my girlfriend Terri some cash , my cellphone , AND THE KEYS TO DONS TITAN ( ! ) and sent her to Athens , with the task of coming back with some serious power !   In no time at all she was back from the store with a truck load of kilowatts !  I had David Cobb saw the specimen .  And  man , it was a dirty job !   I may or may not show the finished specimen that came out .................keep checking back.    Collecting is hot at JXR , call me at 404-975-8005 to book your trip .
