Breaking news page for the georgia amethyst crystal pay to dig site updated December 05 , 2004 . I'll be digging again at jxr pretty soon . Folks interested be sure to drop me a line via e-mail . Fresh dirt alert ! Thats right , I did some digging at jxr and the conditions are excellent for a trip , with lots of boulders on the surface , with one as big as a chevy suburban . With the place all torn up and good boulders about , I'm charging $25 a person to go visit and do some collecting . price will drop back next week to $20 as more and more of the boulders are broken down and hauled out , and collecting gets a little harder. Right now the pickings are pretty good ! Ivey Farm is now closed . I hope to write an article about the history of the place and the recent events there , sooner or later , and will post here . Wondering where to dig for crystals ? I am pleased to offer a great site ! The picture below is of a natural amethyst crystal that was dug recently . I wieghed it on a gram scale and it weighs 215 carats and is flawless gemmy deep purple . It is not only an excellent shiney specimen but also the finest faceting material you will ever encounter. I sold this specimen on E-BAY and sent it overseas to a e-bayer in JAPAN .
