Breaking news for the Jackson's Crossroads pay to dig amethyst hole in Wilkes County , Georgia , updated December 17, 2004 . Recent work at jxr has resulted in conditions ideal for coming out and collecting those luscious gemmy bright amethyst crystals , both loose in the soil and in the numerous big boulders laying about . Pictured below is Carl Rogers and I , working on some pockets last weekend . While most folks are not allowed in the actual holes , good material has been brought up to the surface .
